The Rev. Canon Jeff Golliher, PhD., Missioner. Fr. Golliher is Missioner for the Rondout and Sullivan County for the Diocese of New York. He is also Assisting Minister Provincial for Sacred Ecology for the Anglican Franciscans, Third Order, Province of the Americas. Before coming to St. John’s, he was Canon for the Environment at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan. He also served as the Environmental Staff Person for the Office of the Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations.

Julett Butler was ordained a deacon in 2019. She came to our area in September 2022 to take on a job as Protestant Chaplain with DOCCS and simultaneously work at St. John’s as the deacon. She comes with over 30 years experience in substance abuse and over 20 volunteering in prison ministry. She’s been involved with KAIROS Prison Ministry since 2003. Julett comes with a master’s degree in Communications Studies from Emerson College, a master’s degree in Pastoral Care from Fordham University, an advanced certificate in Public Administration from Marist College and is a Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
The Holy Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 10:00 am.
In Advent, a service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Eucharist is celebrated the Sunday before Christmas Day, 10:00 am
Our Candlelight Christmas Eve Service, with Holy Eucharist, is celebrated at 7:30 pm.
During Holy Week, our Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist (and potluck dinner) is celebrated in the undercroft at 7:00 pm
Our Good Friday Stations of the Cross begins at 2:00 pm
The Celebration of the Day of the Resurrection begins at 10:00 am on Easter Sunday.

Job Description
Church Sexton
Job Summary: Responsible for the building readiness of the church/church office for worship services and related activities, scheduled meetings, and special events, i.e. concerts, funerals, weddings.
Reports To: Priest-in-Charge
Hours/Week: 3-4
Yearly Salary: 3,000.00 [ Salary can be increased depending on skills and needs of the church. It is important to note that an additional stipend will be given to the sexton for helping with big church events]

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Physical ability to perform duties/responsibilities
2. Ability to work independently without supervision
3. Communication skills to work with Priest-in-Charge, congregation and general public
4. Accept responsibility for opening/closing the church building
5. Ability to prepare a work schedule for completing duties/responsibilities
6. Self-motivated to have a good sense for cleanliness and orderliness
7. Ability to identify and report items for repair to the Priest-in-Charge
8. Ability to conduct basic site repairs
9. Undergo a yearly performance review with the Priest-in-Charge
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Weekly maintenance cleaning: vacuuming/sweeping/ dusting/ cleaning the bathrooms/ kitchen/making sure trash is emptied. In addition, special cleanings will be needed after MISU concerts and other events before church worship on Sundays.
2. Making sure kitchen and bathroom supplies are stocked – submit any recommendations to Priest-in-Charge and Vestry for supplies or equipment needed. Once approved, the sexton will purchase the equipment and submit the receipt to the Bookkeeper for reimbursement.
3. As needed, turning on/off heat in the church, monitoring thermostats
4. Help with set up and clean up for weddings, funerals, other functions, (as well as check in on the place in bad weather etc.).
5. Water any plants inside and outside church property (seasonally / as needed)
6. Clean out outside and inside stairways of leaves and trash when necessary.
7. Make sure all outside drains are free of leaves and debris to ensure proper drainage.
8. Check known leaks in the undercroft and address if areas are wet.
9. Salt/sand entrances to church and walkways before winter storms
10. When emergency situations (water problems, excess snowfall, icing, plumbing and electrical failures, etc.) occur, the sexton will attempt to correct the problem to the best of ability. If alleviating the situation is not possible, they will be in touch with the Priest-in-Charge and appointed vestry member.
11. Replace burned out light bulbs
12. Complete any other tasks assigned
